Don Douglas oversees a growing portfolio of technology-related companies. He has founded, operated and funded startup companies focused on security, compliance, colocation, cloud computing, IoT, SaaS, AI, VR, robotics, data analytics and telecom. Don brings a unique viewpoint having worked in the technology field, across a wide range of industries and in a variety of capacities. In San Antonio, Don has founded Liquid Networx which has been consistently recognized as one of the top technology strategic service providers in the US. He has also helped play a part in strengthening the Central Texas startup ecosystem through mentoring and raising capital which culminated in the launching of the Geekdom Fund.
Karen Monsen has more than 18 years of legal experience. She practices employment law and commercial litigation and arbitration in state, national, and international forums. She also drafts technology and certain international contracts, and advises on intellectual property issues. In addition to these general practices, she focuses on electronic discovery, forensic investigations, cybersecurity, and document retention and destruction implementation. She has been hired as an expert in all of these areas by clients in widely diverse industries and in family-law to nationwide litigation. She clerked for Honorable Bea Ann Smith on the Third Court of Appeals in Austin, Texas. Ms. Monsen was a partner with Jackson Walker, L.L.P. (2001 – 2013) before joining King & Sommer, PLLC in 2013. Ms. Monsen was the 2013 San Antonio Business Journal Employment Lawyer of the Year. Prior to law school, she as the communications Director for the Texas Association of Broadcasters, where she appeared before the Federal Communications Commission and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission representing Texas radio and television broadcasters on diversity hiring issues, and developed and wrote complex databases on behalf of the association.
