Tech Port: Sharpening SA's Competitive Edge in Global Cybersecurity

Jim Perschbach – President & CEO, Port San Antonio

Port President and CEO Jim Perschbach will outline the Port’s vision as the organization moves forward with plans to grow and fortify San Antonio’s large cybersecurity ecosystem, including:

  • Highlights of recent milestones by the Port’s cyber customers and the clients they serve;
  • The Port’s ongoing development of strategic spaces that support operations, connections and collaboration between the cyber community, educators and key industries in our region, including aerospace, energy and advanced manufacturing; and
  • Creating connected solutions and innovations for a connected world: How San Antonio is uniquely positioned to leverage its cybersecurity expertise and access a multi-trillion-dollar global market of opportunities.

Perschbach joined the Port in 2014 as the organization’s Executive Vice President of Business Development—leading a team that provides strategic support to grow advanced industries on the 1,900-acre campus, including aerospace, cybersecurity, defense, manufacturing and global logistics. He assumed the role of President & CEO in June 2018.

Previously, he worked as an attorney in private practice with one of the nation’s largest law firms. There he counseled clients in industries including aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

He is a past chair of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce’s Aerospace Committee and the Alamo Academies—a nationally-renowned program within Alamo Colleges that has prepared hundreds of young people for careers in aerospace, cybersecurity, manufacturing and other advanced fields. He is also past chair of Alamo Colleges’ Scobee Education Center / Challenger Learning Center.

Perschbach holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from The George Washington University and earned his law degree from The University of Houston Law Center

Port San Antonio is our community’s large and fast-growing cybersecurity hub—raising our region’s profile as a national center of cyber excellence. The 1,900-acre campus is home to over a dozen cybersecurity operations that employ more than 1,000 professionals in the field. These include the 24th Air Force / Air Force Cyber headquarters and an array of industry marquee names that in recent months have located and expanded at the Port, where they serve numerous defense operations on the campus and elsewhere in the region.

As a strategic partner to the cybersecurity industry, the Port is also creating state-of-the-art facilities to support their ongoing growth and ability to make important connections with San Antonio’s defense community and other mature industries in the region.

Please join Jim and his panel in our next session Tuesday May 21st at:
